Password & Security

Change your password, meet the strength requirements, and recover access if you've forgotten it.

Password & Security

Your password settings live under Settings → Password & Security. Open Settings from your avatar in the sidebar; the page is available to everyone, whether or not you administer an organization.

Changing Your Password

Changing your password takes two steps: prove it's you, then set the new one.

  1. Enter your current password and click Change password.
  2. A dialog opens for the new password. Type it twice — the second field must match — and confirm.
  3. You'll see a confirmation once the change is saved. Use the new password the next time you sign in.

What Makes a Valid Password

The new-password dialog checks each requirement as you type, so you can see what's still missing before you submit:

  • At least 10 characters
  • One lowercase character
  • One uppercase character
  • One number
  • One special character
  • Not a commonly used password

If You Don't Remember Your Current Password

Enter your best guess and submit. If it's wrong, Cardinal offers the email route instead: a verification email goes to the address on your account, and the page confirms where it was sent with a resend link if it doesn't arrive. Follow the link in that email to set a new password without knowing the old one.

Signing In

You sign in with your email address and password. If you were invited to an organization, your account is created when you accept the invitation and set a password — the same requirements above apply.
